Ajwain Wali Arbi (Taro Root With Carom seeds)


I had this at one of our friends place and it was delicious..Ajwain/carom seeds adds a very distinct flavor and amazing fragrance to the sabzi.


Ingredients:-

Arbi/Taro root:- 8 whole pieces. (peel of their skin and cut into thin slices)
Oil:- 3 Tbsp
Onion:- 1 Small
Jeera/Cumin seeds:- 1/2 Tsp
Ajwain/Carom seeds:- 2-3 Tsp (Add as per your taste)
Salt as per taste
Turmeric powder:- 1 Tsp
Red Chilli Powder:- 1/2 Tsp
Garam Masala Powder:- 1 Tsp

Procedure:-

1)Heat oil in a non stick pan on medium heat.
2)Add Cumin and carom seeds, when start crackling add abri and fry for couple of minutes.
3)Add onion, salt , turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala, mix everything well.
4) Cook till arbi is tender.

Serve hot with Roti or Chapati or Indian bread
