Garlic Cheese Indian Puffed Bread / Poori



These pooris are the indian version of garlic bread. Great snack for kids as it contains good amount of cheese and paneer. These are perfect for kids lunch box too.

    Ingredients:-

  • All Purpose Flour:- 1/2 Cup
  • Whole Wheat Flour:- 1/4 Cup
  • Mozzarella Cheese:- 1/2 Cup
  • Paneer:- 1/2 Cup
  • Salt as per taste
  • Baking Soda:- 2 Pinch
  • Garlic:- 1 Tsp (finely minced)
  • Italian seasoning :- 1/4 Tsp
  • Water as needed


Procedure:-

1)Mix everything in a bowl except water, add water little by little to make a dough.

2) Cover the dough with a damp cloth until ready to use.

3)Heat a oil in a deep frying pan ( kadai) on high heat.

4)Now make a lime size ball from the dough and roll each into a small circle with rolling pin and if you wish you can cut it into triangle shapes.

5)Deep fry poori's in hot oil for a minute, turn side & fry until puffed and golden in color.

Baked Pancake Muffins



I know you all must be thinking what exactly is this baked pancake muffin. So let me tell you ,it is another easy and innovative way to make pancake. You can make this recipe with so many variations, list is endless. Use any of your favorite pancake recipe ( I used this recipe) and combine it with your favorite toppings and voila you have baked pancake muffins.This is really good for breakfast or kids snack.Refrigerate the batter a night before and bake fresh in the morning.



Pour the pancake batter in muffin pan and top it with any topping you like( I used mini chocolate chips, raisins & walnuts)and bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes.

Serve hot as it is or drizzle it with honey or maple syrup

Quick and Easy Banana bread



I already have quite a few recipes of Banana bread on my blog and i love all of them but still i always get excited to find any new recipe :). I knew i am going to try this one the moment i saw the Whole wheat flour in the ingredients list and i am really glad that i did..It was just perfect..

Ingredients:
Butter, at room temp:- 8 Tbsp (1 stick)
Sugar:- 3/4 cup
2 eggs
All purpose flour:- 1 Cup
Whole wheat flour:- 1 Cup
Baking soda:- 1 Tsp
Salt:- 1/2 Tsp
3 Large bananas (mashed)
Vanilla:- 1 Tsp
Pecans or Walnuts, coarsely chopped -(optional):- 1 /2 Cup

Procedure:-
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (grease bread pan)
2. Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy.Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
3. Sift all purpose flour, baking soda & salt together, stir in whole wheat flour & add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
4. Fold in bananas, vanilla and nuts.
5. Pour mixture into pan, bake 50-60 min. or til cake tester comes out clean – cool in pan 10 min., then in rack.
Makes one loaf.

Yummy Banana Bread


I never get tired of trying new recipes for Banana breads.Whole wheat flour and lemon in the ingredient list made me try this recipe immediately and it came out perfect as you can see in the above pic:)..was gone within hours:)..I used brown sugar instead of white and added chocolate chips too:)

This recipe yields 1 loaf.

Ingredients:-

Mashed ripe bananas:- 1 Cup (approz 2 bananas)
Sifted all purpose flour:- 1 Cup
9 grain flour (or whole wheat flour):- 1 Cup
Milk:- 1/3 Cup
Vegetable Oil:- 1/4 cup
Eggs:- 2
Sugar:- 1 Cup ( i used brown sugar)
Lemon Juice:- 1 Tsp
Salt :- 1/2 Tsp
Baking Soda:- 1 Tsp
Chopped walnuts, toasted:- 1/2 Cup
Semi-sweet chocolate chips;- 1/2 Cup (optional)

Procedure:-

1. Preheat the oven to 350F/175C

2. Sift the all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt into a bowl. Add in the whole grain flour and sugar.

3. Add in the oil, bananas, and eggs. Mix well.

4. Combine the milk and lemon juice, and stir until a uniform batter is formed. Stir in the walnuts.

5. Grease a loaf pan (9x5x3 inches). Pour the batter into the loaf pan.

6. Bake for 60 - 70 minutes. Note that the top of your loaf will brown before it is fully cooked. Remove banana bread from pan, let it cool on a cooling rack, and serve.
