Aachari Paneer( Indian Cottage Cheese Flavored with Pickled Spices)


I am a big fan of Paneer so i am always looking for new recipes to try..I found this recipe while goggling, tried it and loved it..

Ingredients:-

Oil:- 4 Tbsp
Fennel Seeds/ Saunf:- 2 Tsp
Mustard Seeds:- 1 Tsp
Fenugreek Seeds/Methi Dana:- 1/2 Tsp
Onion seeds/Kalonji:- 1/2 Tsp
Jeera/Cumin seeds:- 1 Tsp
Onion:- 3 chopped
Green Chillies:- 3-4
Haldi/Turmeric:- 1 Tsp
Garlic flakes:- 5-6
Ginger:- 1 inch piece crushed
Beaten Curd:- 1/2 Cup
Aamchoor/ Dry mango powder:- 1 1/2 Tsp
Salt
Paneer:- 300 grams
Green Chillies as per your taste
Red Chilli Powder:- 1/2 Tsp

Procedure:-

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add saunf, mustard seeds, methi dana, onion seeds (kalonji) and and fry till they crackle.
  3. Add chopped onions and chopped green chillies till golden.
  4. Add haldi, crushed garlic flakes and crushed ginger.
  5. Gradually add beaten curd, stirring constantly.
  6. Add amchoor and salt.
  7. Cook till curd dries slightly.
  8. Just before serving, add 300 gms Paneer and a few slit green chillies.
  9. Sprinkle with salt and chilli powder.
  10. Stir for 1-2 mins on low flame.

Serve hot.
