How to Make Poori ( Indian deep Fried Bread)

Poori's are very easy to make and is also a popular breakfast item . It is good for take outs too when you are planing a picnic or outing..Pooris can be make simple/plain or with any flavor added to it ( like spinach ) while making the dough..There are some things that you should keep in mind while preparing the dough for pooris

The dough for pooris should be made hard not soft with use of little water at a time.
And for deep frying pooris the oil should be hot ( you can check whether the oil is ready or not by dropping little bit of the dough in the oil if the dough comes right up and start floating in the oil that means oil is ready to deep frying)

Ingredients:-

Whole wheat Flour:- 2 cups
Sooji/ Semolina:- 1/8 cup
Salt a pinch
Oil:- 2- 3 tbsp
Ajwain:- 1/2 tsp ( optional)
Warm Water:- 3 /4 cup ( approximately)

Procedure:-

Mix everything in a bowl except water, add water little by little to make a stiff dough ( dough should not be very soft)

Cover the dough with a damp cloth or paper towel and let it sit for 10-15 minutes

Heat a oil in a deep frying pan ( kadai) on high heat.

Now make a lime size ball from the dough and roll each into a small circles with rolling pin .

Deep fry poori's in hot oil for a minute, turn side & fry until puffed and golden in color

Serve hot or at room temperature with any sabji or curry you like..Enjoy:)
