Baked Cumin Flavored Biscuits / Jeere Wale Namkeen Biscuit



Jeera Biscuits are savory cookies spiced with cumin, a delicious tea time snack with a perfect balance of sweet and savory. If you are tired of eating sweet cookies,these cookies are for you...just melts in the mouth.



Jeera / Cumin Flavored Biscuits

Adapted From Simple Home Baking CookBook Of Sanjeev Kapoor

Makes 20 biscuits

Ingredients:-

Cumin Seeds:- 2 Tbsp
All Purpose Flour:- 2 Cups
Salt:- 1 1/2 Tsp
Baking Powder:- 1 Tsp
Powdered sugar:- 1/4 Cup
Oil:- 1/2 Cup
Egg:- 1 , lightly beaten



Procedure:-

1) Preheat an oven to 425 F . Grease a baking tray. Sift together the flour,salt and baking powder;mix in the cumin seeds.

2) In a large bowl, mix together the sugar and oil; add the egg and mix well. Add the flour mixture and mix;add two tablespoons of water and knead into a soft dough.

3)Divide the dough into twenty equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and flatten slightly. OR Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface ,Shape the biscuits with a cookie cutter.

4)Place a little apart on the greased baking tray. Bake for about 10 minutes to 15 minutes, or until light brown.

5) Remove from the oven and transfer the biscuits to a wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight container.

hi ..I tried the recipe..they cookies got a nice look and they even rose from their size but in 15 min time ..I felt they were still not ready and on touching, they felt too soft and uncooked so I kept them on for another 5 min..
The cookies after that became a lil hard ..can you suggest where should I improve..thanks

If u think they are not ready in 15 minute then do the increment of 2 minute and recheck..i took it out when they were pale brown in color..cookied are always soft to touch when warm it become hard as they cool so always look for their color for doneness..
