Bhooni Hui Shimla Mirch ( Green Pepper Stir- Fry)

Stir Fry is always a best option as this can be served on table in less than 30 minutes. Stir frying bell pepper preserves its natural sweetness and crispiness. This recipe has really nice flavor of peanuts and gram flour in it.

Serves:- 4
Prep Time:- 20 Minutes
Cooking Time:- 15 Minutes

Recipe Source:- The Indian spice Kitchen by Monisha

Ingredients:-

Gram Flour- 4 Tbsp
Oil:- 4 Tbsp
Cumin seeds:- 1 Tsp
Large pinch of Asafoetida
Onions Chopped:- 2
Green Peppers:- Desseded and cubed 3 large ( 1 1/4 pound)
Unsalted Peanuts:- 4 tbsp Coarsely Crushed
Cayenne Powder:- 1 Tsp
Turmeric Powder:- 1 Tsp
Coriander Powder:- 1 Tsp
Garam Masala Powder:- 1 Tsp
Salt as per taste

Procedure:-

1) Heat a heavy pan and dry- roast the gram flour, stirring until it is brown and fragrant.

2) Heat the oil in a separate pan. Add the cumin and asafoetida. Stir a few times, then add the onion and saute until golden.

3) Add the green pepper, peanuts , powder spices and salt. Cover and cook until the pepper is crunchy.

4) Sprinkle the gram flour over and stir well to break up the lumps. Cook for 5 more minutes, then remove from the heat.

Serve hot with rotis..
