Methi Thepla (Methi Paratha)
I'm not sure if you guys remember the dialogue from 3 idiots regarding Thepla and Dokhla; it was very funny "बुश ने इराक पर दो दोख्ले गिराए" :). From there I thought of exploring Theplas. Here is Methi Thepla you might want to try. Methi Theplas are famous Gujarati parathas. They usually carry theplas for traveling as they last 3-4 days without getting spoiled. It is very easy to make and i bet you cannot resist them to eat for long as they taste so delicious.
Ingredients:-
Whole Wheat Flour:- 3 cups
Besan;- 1 cup
Curd:- 1 cup
Methi Leaves:- 2 Bunches( Wash and chop roughly)
Salt
Red Chilli Powder:- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder:- 1 tsp
fennel powder:- 1 tsp
Sesame Seeds:- 2 tsp
Procedure:-
1) Place all the ingredients in a bowl , mix everything well & make a dough(Use as little water as possible to knead the dough.)
2) Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
TO MAKE A PARATHA
Make a small ball out of the dough, roll it into a flat circle. Heat a griddle and roast the paratha on both side with or without oil ( as per your requirement)..
Serve it with pickle and yogurt.
ENJOY:)
