Paneer Masala
Paneer or Indian cottage cheese is a perfect alternative for vegeterians..Its is very versatile cheese too , you can make anything from sabjzis , parathas to tikkas , sweets (like rasogulla) etc..Here is simple recipe that you can make in 15 minutes..Roll it into a paratha and its perfect for kids lunch box too..
Ingredients:-
Paneer ( cut into cubes):- 2 1/2 cups
Oil:- 3 tbsp
Jeera/Cumin Seeds:- 1/2 tsp
Mustard Seeds:- 1/2 tsp
Ginger:- 1 tbsp( chopped finely)
Garlic:- 3 cloves (chopped)
Onion:- 1 small (chopped)
Tomato:- 1 1 /2 (Chopped)
Salt as per taste
Turmeric:- 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli powder:- 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala :- 1/2 tsp
Kasoori Methi Powder:- 1/2 tsp
Paneer Masala:- 1/2 tsp
Coriander Leaves for Garnish
Procedure:-
1) Heat oil in a pan..Add jeera & mustard , allow it to splutter.
2) Add ginger & garlic and saute it.
3) Add onion and fry until they are translucent, Add tomato and all the spices ( salt, turmeric, red chilli powder & garam masla)
4) Mix everything well and cook until tomatoes are tender ..
5) Add Paneer , kasoori methi, and paneer masala, mix everything well and switch off the gas
6) Let it sit covered in a pan for about 5-10 mins before serving
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot
That is one lovely dish.
