15 Creative Ways To Use Leftover Halloween Candy

Did your little one collect enough candy to last a lifetime? Instead of saving your surplus supply of Kit Kats or having your children consume it all in one night (or worse, you consume it all in one night), take a look at our alternate ways to use, nibble, donate, bake with, or make money (!) from, or make others smile with your leftover candy.

Fun Sweet Treats For Gifts:- Buy fun chocolate molds at a craft store, melt down your extra chocolate bars, pour into the molds, let cool, and voilà — decorative, delicious gifts!

Candy Surprise Cupcakes:- Surprise cupcake lovers with an added attraction! Hide different types of candy bar pieces inside cupcakes. Simply prepare a box of cake mix according to the package instructions. Spoon the batter into cupcake tins so each one is about a quarter full. Place half a miniature candy bar in the center of each and cover with additional batter. Bake according to the directions, remove from oven and cool before frosting. (Decorate the cupcakes with other leftover Halloween candy if desired!) A secret treasure will be found buried inside each cupcake – adding an extra smile to everyone’s cake-filled mouths.

Healthy Snack:- Top celery with nut butter, and sprinkle with chopped candy bars.

DIY trail mix:-Make a special Halloween version of trail mix by tossing in a handful of candy pieces with your pretzels, nuts, raisins, and dried fruits.

Ice Cream Snickers Pie:-Ice cream and Snickers go together like peanut butter and jelly. They are just made for each other.

Milkshakes:- Pretty much any chocolate bar will work in a milkshake -- Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Hershey's Kisses, Almond Joys (or Mounds), Kit Kats, Butterfingers, etc. Simply add chocolate or vanilla ice cream to the blender, then pour in non dairy milk and several snack-size candy bars, or a whole candy bar. Blend until all the candy bar bits and pieces are pulverized. Add the candy after the ice cream and milk have mixed together and enjoy.

Fruit Kebabs:- Slide sliced fruit, large marshmallows and chopped candy bars onto skewers and serve as dessert.

Store/Freeze & Reuse:- Store Halloween candy in airtight bags or in the freezer and use it throughout the year for gift baskets, snacks, add it to milkshakes, sundaes, ice cream, and plain cookie dough. (For a quick milkshake, add mini Butterfinger or Snickers bars to ice cream or frozen soy yogurt and soy milk—maybe even throw a banana in there, too!) Or to use in holiday baking or use it to decorate a gingerbread house. You can freeze candy up to a year in the freezer &It is easier to cut candy into pieces if you freeze it first.

Sell It To The Dentist:- Several dentists in the area will buy back leftover treats for $1 per pound or in exchange of some goodies like floss and toothbrush

Donate it:- Collect all the leftover candy and make a care-package to send to the troops.

Bring it into the office:- Place candy in a small treasure chest and leave it in the employee lounge or lunchroom.Your coworkers will love the extra treats, and the sugar rush will make everyone that much more productive:).It will disappear in no time.

Create science experiments with the candy:- Children love getting hands-on with science and this is a great way to learn while getting rid of unwanted candy. Be creative and let children explore: Which ones will sink or swim, or even, will they dissolve in hot water, or cold?

Use It To Learn Math:- Teach math by letting kids practice their counting, using candy as counters when doing math homework or practice sorting by color, shape or size. And you can even reward them with tasting a few for their hard work.

Exchange It:- Have your child practice writing skills by writing a letter to “The Candy Fairy” asking her to exchange the candy for a new book, small toy or for an outing of his or her choice.

Stuff a Piñata with it. Whether you are having a party or just for an afternoon of fun, you can stuff a piñata with your leftover Halloween candy and let the excitement commence.

If none of those appeal to you, you can always go with bonus use: just eat it.....
