Achari Bhindi / Okra With Pickled Spices



Okra/Bhindi stir fried with onion and pickled spices gives this simple dish a unique flavor and aroma.



Achari Bhindi / Okra Cooked In Pickled Spices

Preparation Time:- 15 minutes
Cooking Time:- 10 minutes

Ingredients:-

Okra/ Bhindi , washed , dried & cut into small pieces:- 1 Cup
Onion, thinly sliced:- 1/2 Cup
Oil:- 1 Tbsp


Spices:-

Dry roast and grind together 1/4 Tsp each (Fennel seeds, Fenugreek seeds, coriander seeds, nigella seeds, cumin & mustard seeds)

Chaat Masala:- 1/4 Tsp
Aamchoor Powder/ Dry Mango Powder:- 1/4 Tsp
Red Chilli Powder:- 1/4 Tsp
Turmeric Powder:- 1/4 Tsp

Salt

Procedure:-

Mix all the spices in a bowl and keep it aside.

1) Heat oil in a non stick pan on a medium heat . When hot add onion and fry for a minute.

2) Add the spices ( that you kept aside in a bowl) & okra, mix everything well. Turn the heat down to low.

3) Cook on low heat uncovered , stirring occasionally until okra is well cooked.

Serve hot or warm with rotis,chapatis or as a side dish.
