Moon Mathri

I was looking to make any new recipe for Diwali and i came across this receipe..I made this on Diwali and it turned out really good...My husband really loved it..I also shared it with all my friends..The main thing i liked in this recipe is the taste of kasoori methi, i made few changes in the measurements according to my taste and also you can make this of any shape,

i liked the idea of making moon shaped that's why i called it moon mathri but you can make it square, circle ..Use your imagination and have fun:)

Ingredients:-

All purpose flour/Maida:- 4 1/2 cups
Ghee(Melted):- 1/2 cup + 1/3 cup
Cumin/Jeera:- 1/2 tbsp
Ajwain:- 1/2 tbsp
Kasoori methi:- 1/2 tbsp
Salt:- 3 tsp ( or as per your taste)
Baking powder:- 1/2 tsp
Water:- 1 cup ( approximately)

Procedure:-

Put flour, ghee, cumin, ajwain, kasoorimethi, salt and baking powder in a bowl and mix all the ingredients with your hand, when everything is totally mixed then pour water little by little to make a stiff dough..Cover the dough with the wet cloth and let it stand in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours..When you are ready make small balls from the dough and roll it like a roti but it should be thick and then cut from the middle and now you have two D shaped rolls..and then you can use cap of the bottle as suggested in the original receipe ( i used Melon Baller) to cut into moon shape and deep fry on a low flame till golden brown..Store it in the air tight container for longer use..
